Feminist Approaches to Leadership Lesson Plan

In this lesson plan, students will learn about feminist perspectives on leadership. Students will acknowledge the varied forms of gender discrimination that affect female leaders in their activism, as well as how they translate their negotiation skills to build coalitions for social change. Also, students will carry out external research on one case study to evaluate how feminist perspectives brings new values and principles to organizational culture.

In this lesson plan, students will learn how several factors (history, culture, race, class) influence the ways feminist activists organize to fight gender inequality and understand how they create international coalitions while recognizing their differences through dialogue and consensus-building.

Intersectionality Lesson Plan

In this lesson, students will learn about interlocking oppressions that multiply shape women’s experiences and understand how women build coalitions across differences in the United States and globally through small and large group in-class discussions and an assignment to be completed outside the classroom.
