Math during the Pandemic

Here is a resource for folks missing seminar life: Catalog of Virtual Seminars

The pandemic has produced an environment where  you can see seminar talks essentially anywhere in the world!

You can search by topic, speaker name, place, etc.

But never forget the wise words of a productive mathematician: Don’t let the talks interfere with a good conference!

That is, it is definitely possible to attend so many talks (whether at a conference or during the regular active seminar life at Michigan), that you have no time for  deep reflection on your own mathematical work. The pandemic can also provide the opportunity to spend time working on your math rather than listening to others’.  I’ve been enjoying that myself over the past two months!  Finding a balance that works for you is important.

I hope everyone is saying safe, and sane in these crazy times.
