About

This site collects advice and resources put together by the faculty and students of the University of Michigan’s PhD  programs in Mathematics and  Applied and Interdisciplinary Mathematics,  as well as the Marjorie Lee Brown Research Masters Program.  This content is intended to help current students in those programs navigate graduate school and have a good life while doing so.

The site is currently  maintained by  Professor Karen Smith,  former long-term Doctoral Committee chair for the Math Program, and former Associate Chair for Graduate Studies. Content is developed in consultation with faculty and students. The information here represents the opinions of the contributors, and not official math department policy. Please see the  Mathematics Department Graduate Program Webpage for official department policy and information.
