Tips and Insights on External Grants and Fellowships workshop was held on February 9, 2022. This workshop featured a panel with several LSA humanities faculty members who have successfully applied for external funding to support their research. Panelists shared their experiences and strategies for applying for external funding. The funding portfolio of these panelists included, for example, support from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS), The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, and the Luce Foundation. Links to a recording of the event and the powerpoint slides that were shared are available.
Making Projects Accessible workshop was held on June 5, 2017. In this workshop, Dr. Stephanie Rosen (U-M Library Accessibility Specialist) and Heidi Steiner Burkhardt (U-M Library User Experience Specialist) introduced the concepts of accessibility and usability to help the 2017 proposal development teams think critically about the goals of their projects, as well as design deliverables that will be usable for a broad range of audiences using a range of technologies. We thank our workshop facilitators for sharing with us their session outline and for adding details to this handout.
Working with Student Research Partners workshops were held on December 3 and 7, 2015. We thank our panelists who shared their experiences and insights. We compiled a digest of their advice regarding graduate students here. Our colleagues also had valuable suggestions for working with undergraduates that we’ve compiled here.
