The Department of Mathematics at the University of Chicago invites applications for the position of Lecturer. This position is for a term of one or two years, with the possibility of renewal. The position will be part of the Service Employees International Union as a Lecturer 3. The relationship between the lecturers and the university is governed in part through a Collective Bargaining Agreement. Responsibilities include teaching six courses per year, contributions to the effective functioning of the undergraduate program, and ongoing professional development. Screening will begin July 10, 2019, and continue until all available positions are filed.

Qualifications

Completion of a Ph.D. degree in Mathematics or a closely related field is required prior to the start of appointment. Applicants should be qualified to teach a range of undergraduate courses in mathematics including single and multivariable calculus, and linear algebra.
