QR Study Party

If you are studying for a QR exam, come study with other people! If you have already passed the QR exams, come share your knowledge/tips/encouragement! Snacks will be provided by AWM. This event is open to grad students of all genders in both pure and applied math.


“Finding Your Teaching Identity” Panel

Facilitated by Lara Du

Friday, 8/30   2:30-3:30pm, room 3088

This panel will feature experienced instructors from diverse backgrounds discussing how their own identities impact their teaching and how they support students from diverse backgrounds. This panel will be particularly helpful for international instructors, gender minorities, and people of color. Non-minority instructors are also encouraged to attend in order to better understand the needs of their minority students and better support their colleagues.


Planning meeting and Fall Kick-Off Social at Dominick’s 

Thursday, 9/5   5:00 meeting, 5:30 socializing

Join AWM for our Fall Kickoff Social at Dominick’s! We will have a planning meeting at 5pm followed by socializing and free appetizers at 5:30. You are welcome to join us at 5:30 or come at 5:00 if you want to discuss what events/projects our group will focus on this semester.
