Workshop for Early Stage PhD for you and/or your students

The University of Utah chapter of the Association for Women in Mathematics is organizing a workshop for early-career grad students and advanced undergradsin pure mathematics. The goals of this workshop are to expose students to potential research areas through a series of lectures and problem sessions and to to foster a sense of community amongst young mathematicians.

The workshop will be May 20-22, 2020, at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, UT. Funding is available for undergraduate and graduate students, with priority given to participants with backgrounds that are traditionally underrepresented in mathematics. The deadline to apply for funding is January 31, 2020.

Confirmed speakers are Eloísa Grifo (UC Riverside, recently a UM post-doc, Commutative
Algebra), Wei Ho (Michigan, Arithmetic Geometry), and Aaron Pollack (Duke, Algebraic Number Theory).
