Rally in Support of GEO

While there is still much work to be done, University of Michigan GSIs enjoy some pretty good working conditions and benefits compared to peers elsewhere. This is because of the strength of our Union, the GEO. Don’t take this for granted!

GEO starts bargaining tomorrow with the University.  Come show your support at the GEO bargaining kick-off rally on the Diag tomorrow 11 am  November 13.  There will be speeches by Yousef Rabhi (our state house representative) and GEO officers, then a march to Michigan League, where bargaining begins. Devlin Mallory, who’s on the bargaining team, will also give a speech.

Demonstrating strength is an important part of success for organized labor, so consider checking it out! Come be a part of a bigger force, and make some friends while you’re at it. This is your chance to make a difference to preserve and extend employment benefits for future generations of Michigan graduate students.

GEO representatives from the Math department will meet in front of the photos on the first floor of EH at around 10:50 if you’d like to walk over together! Be sure to thank all your GEO stewards— Devlin Mallory, Monica Lewis, Feng Zhu, Ben Krakoff, and Karthik Ganapathy— for their efforts on your behalf!
