New Post-doc-Grad-student mentoring program

The Graduate Student Advisory Board has developed a new program in which senior PhD candidates in Math and AIM will be paired with a volunteering Michigan post-doc for informal advice and interaction. Please read the message below from some Board representatives and think about getting involved.

Hi All,
In an effort to increase interaction between grad students and postdocs, your Graduate Student Advisory Committee is instituting a Postdoc-Grad Mentorship Program for Math/AIM PhD candidates, with a focus on those graduating in the next two years.
We will be assigning mentor-mentee pairs, and each pair will be given some funding for a coffee or snack, as well as some resources to help facilitate productive conversations. We hope these pairings will lead to further discussions on your work, job applications, and other aspects of the grad student – postdoc transition.
We will aim to assign people with similar backgrounds and mathematical interests. If you are interested, please fill out the attached google form by Wednesday, October 23rd: https://forms.gle/YYscb2SYCJKqGroQ7
Let us know if you have any questions.
Best,
