Marie Genca Kotz

Marie Genca Kotz was in her 90s when I interviewed her. She lived alone in her house and when I drove up she was replacing a window on her front door by herself. She looked about 20 years younger than she was. Her father and then she ran the Genca Photo Studio on Chene near St. Stanislaus. She was in the first graduating class of St. Stanislaus High School and a long time participant in the Lutnia Song and Dance club. She had retained a sharp memory and was very forthcoming. The interview was conducted in November 2002 but I met with her subsequently 2-3 times and may have recorded some of that.
