Mon. March 2, 12-1pm in MSRB II – Rm 3813:
Lunch seminar by Food Gatherers with Eileen Spring, CEO. Food Gatherers is the food rescue serving Washtenaw County. Food Gatherers rescues food that would otherwise go to waste from more than 300 local sources including food retailers, restaurants, and food wholesalers. Hosted by CHDU and HESP.

Tues. March 3, 12-1pm in MSRB II – Rm 3755:
Seminar on special medical diets for diabetes and hypertension while on food stamps/SNAP benefits by April Pickering, RD, Clinical Dietitian at Ypsilanti Health Center. Hosted by CHDU and BMA.

Wed. March 4, 7-9pm in MSRB II – WLH:
Documentary Screening of A Place At The Table. 50 Million Americans—1 in 4 children—don’t know where their next meal is coming from. A Place at the Table tells the powerful stories of three such Americans, who maintain their dignity even as they struggle just to eat. Hosted by CHDU and LANAMA. Dinner provided.

Thurs. March 5, 12:30-1pm in MSRB II – Rm 3733:
Food Stamp Fact or Fiction 
about poverty, hunger, food assistance programs, and food deserts. Hosted by CHDU.

Fri., March 6, from 12-1:00pm in MSRB II – Rm 3813:
Lunch seminar by Growing Hope with Amanda Edmonds and Tanya Andrews. Growing Hope, based in Ypsilanti, is a partner for organizations that wish to use gardening as a way to further their social, educational, and/or environmental missions. Hosted by CHDU and UAAMSA.

March 9-13th–Food Stamp Challenge:
As per tradition, Food Justice Week will recruit students to participate in the annual 
Food Stamp Challenge—an opportunity for you experience living for one week on a food stamp budget. For more information, check out this documentIf you are interested in taking part in the Food Stamp Challenge, we will send more information along.
