Dr. Chang is engaged in community-based research that focuses on health and policy issues that promote healthy behaviors, specifically access to healthy food. Her team create innovative programs and collaborations that promote the use of food to prevent, treat, and cure disease and improve the wellbeing of communities. Her research also uses text messaging to engage difficult-to-reach populations to collect patient reported outcomes as well as poll their thoughts and opinions. She is the director of the National Clinician Scholars Program at IHPI, the Health Behavior Optimization for Michigan (HBOM) Collaborative Quality Initiative, and the MyVoice National Poll of Youth.
